Darcy’s Daydreams

Darcy Ward was born and raised in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina.  This environment and the people who inhabit it have influenced both her view of the world, and the work that she creates.  She believes that art is, above all, a form of communication - a way to share stories and experiences with others more completely than with words alone.  Her art is based largely on folklore, traditions, and experiences from Appalachia. Darcy’s material of choice is scrap metal and found natural objects - as they have their own story, separate from the art as a whole.
