Artist Talk! - Masako Onodera
Artist Talk!
Masako Onodera is a Japanese-born, U.S.-based artist known for her unique sculptural jewelry. She combines materials like metal, leather, and silicone to explore themes of the body, memory, and touch. Her work challenges traditional ideas of beauty and function, often evoking a deep emotional response.
In this talk, Onodera will share her creative process, discuss how she chooses materials, and reflect on the personal and cultural influences behind her work. Join us for an inspiring conversation about the powerful connection between material, form, and feeling.
Masako, was Meredith’s jewelry + metals professor at Bowling Green State University! She will be teaching a Materials Exploration course at Penland at the end of June - make sure to check it out!!!
